PRESS RELEASE: San Francisco Theatre Company compares Ralph Nader's Candidacy to Jesus run
Ralph Nader to run against Hitler?
San Francisco's comedic Thunderbird Theatre Company presents Ralph Nader's candidacy as Jesus running as a third party candidate.
As a reflection of the last presidential election and perhaps a premonition of the one to come, the Thunderbird Theatre Company of San Francisco is presenting a political spoof titled "Better Than Hitler." Mirroring the 2000 election, "Better Than Hitler" presents the U.S. presidential candidates not as Bush, Gore and Nader, but as Hitler, Mussolini and Jesus. Although Hitler's platform contains promises of oppression, no one wants to vote for third-party candidate Jesus because it would be the same as "throwing away your vote."
This political spoof, written by Jon Brooks, is being presented by the Thunderbird Theatre Company of San Francisco, known for their off-the-wall spoofs. The play is part of the Bay One-Acts (BOA) Festival and the play will only be performed for times, THIS WEEK: Thursday through Sunday, February 26th through 29th, 2004.
Timely and hilariously farcical, "Better Than Hitler" pokes fun at the hot issue of Nader's candidacy.
Will Jesus' running as a third-party candidate put Hitler into the White house?
